Health Guarantee
A written, two-year health guarantee on every Munchkin kitten.
We stand behind the health of every kitten we raise. The following is a summary of the guarantee included in your adoption contract.
Coverage period
Our health guarantee covers a period of two (2) years from the kitten’s date of birth against congenital or genetic conditions that are life-threatening or significantly impact quality of life.
What is covered
Hereditary defects of the heart, kidneys, and skeletal system; congenital conditions present at birth; and any condition demonstrably caused by genetic factors and confirmed by a licensed veterinarian.
Replacement policy
In the event of a covered loss, we will replace the kitten with one of equivalent value from a future litter, or — if no kitten is available — issue a partial refund of the purchase price. The original kitten remains with the family in either case unless its welfare is at risk.
Veterinary examination requirement
The buyer agrees to have the kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of pickup or delivery. This protects both parties and establishes a baseline of the kitten’s health on go-home day.
Buyer responsibilities
The buyer agrees to maintain age-appropriate vaccinations, annual wellness exams, and a high-quality diet. The kitten must be kept strictly indoors (or in a secure outdoor enclosure). Free-roaming, declawing, or rehoming without breeder approval voids this guarantee.
Breeder responsibilities
The breeder agrees to disclose all known health information, provide accurate vaccination and deworming records, and be available for the lifetime of the kitten to assist with health, nutrition, and behavior questions.
Exclusions
This guarantee does not cover injury, parasites contracted after pickup, illness due to neglect, or conditions caused by improper diet or lack of veterinary care.
