About Our Cattery

A small home cattery with more than a decade of Munchkin experience.

We are a family-run, in-home Munchkin breeder. Our cats live with us — they are not housed in a separate breeding facility. Every kitten you see in our nursery has been raised by hand from day one.

My name is Melisa Ford and I've been raising Munchkin cats from my home since 2014. What began as a love affair with one short-legged rescue named Hazel has slowly grown into a deeply intentional small breeding program focused on health, temperament, and ethical placement.

We are intentionally tiny. We welcome two to three Munchkin litters per year, no more. Each of our breeding cats lives in our home as a member of the family — they are never crated, never confined to a separate “breeding room,” and are retired into our home or into pre-approved spay/neuter families when their breeding days are done.

Our daily routine looks ordinary on purpose. Kittens are gently woken by morning sunlight, fed alongside our adult cats, exposed to vacuum noises and friendly visitors, and tucked in each night with their littermates. By the time a kitten is ready to leave for a new home, it has heard children, ridden in a car, met a calm dog, and trusted dozens of hands.

Our ethics, in plain English.

We never breed for trends.

Our breeding decisions are driven by health, temperament, and pedigree — not coat color popularity.

We don’t do shelters or pet stores.

Every kitten leaves on a written contract with a no-surrender clause and return-to-breeder option for life.

We retire breeders early.

Our breeding females retire by age 5 and are spayed, kept, or placed in vetted forever homes.

We say no, kindly.

If we don’t think we’re the right fit for a family, we’ll tell you — and help you find a better one.
